Burkholderia Tolerate Nature's Tearful Defense in the Allium Chemical Arms Race

Commentary: Paudel et al. (2024) identified putative TTG clusters in the chromosomes and plasmids of multiple onion-associated Burkholderia species, including the B. cepacian complex (Bcc), B. gladioli pv. alliicola (Bga), and B. orbicola through whole-genome sequencing. Not only were these compact TTG clusters widespread, but they consisted of three distinct types with conserved synteny for most genes and varying sequence conservation.
