Bio

I find the “boom and bust” cycle and the tit-for-tat coevolution between plants and pathogens very fascinating.

Among other things, I will be delving deeper into molecular plant-microbe interactions, specifically immune receptor protein complexes, immune signalling components, post translational modifications, RNA interference, NLR networks and bioengineering.

Ultimately, I am interested in understanding how to discover, engineer, and deploy novel immune receptors in plants in order to make them robust against the increasing pressures of phytopathogens as a way of ensuring food security for the growing human population.
