Bio
I am interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie NLR activation following pathogen perception, particularly in the case of immune receptors that work in pairs or networks. Currently, I am studying how sensor-helper paired NLRs in the NRC network activate to mediate immune signaling and disease resistance during infection. I am also attempting to understand how pathogen effectors can interfere with this activation process at the molecular level in order to suppress immunity. Ultimately, we want to use this information to engineer healthier, more resilient crops.
