Bio
I am fascinated by the evolutionary arms race that takes place between plants and their pathogens. This is what drove me to study NLR immunity, using Nicotiana benthamiana as a model system. Before joining TSL I was working on engineering synthetic selfish genes, called gene drives, for population control of the malaria mosquito, and the Drosophila suzukii agricultural pest.
