Postdoctoral Scientist
Everton Geraldo Capote Ferreira
Bio
During my PhD, I studied genetic resistance to major soybean diseases, as stem canker, root-knot nematode, and Asian soybean rust, providing SNP markers to use in marker-assisted selection at Embrapa-Soybean (National Center for Research on Soybean).
I recently joined the 2Blades group, to understand and capture genetic mechanisms underlying pathogenicity in Phakopsora pachyrhizi. The comprehensive results of my project will be useful in the development of soybean plants with durable resistance against this pathogen.
