Bio
I completed my Master’s degree at the University College Dublin, where I was engaged to investigate the interaction between Phytophthora ramorum and larches utilizing RNA-seq. I was also working as a research assistant to study transcriptional profiling of the response of wheat to Fusarium.
I commenced my PhD in October 2015 as a Halpin Scholar. My main aim is to study transcriptional dynamics of effector delivery in the rice blast fungus, in particular identifying potential transcription factors which centralize the progress of infection, and to understand their detailed regulatory functions. Furthermore, I am also trying to reveal the specific recognition of the fungus to host cells, I am especially interested in how critical effectors of M. oryzae are activated on planta and/or are repressed without infection.
