Bio
I am interested in unravelling novel receptor-ligand pairs that may play fundamental role in development and response to a/biotic stresses in Arabidopsis. We are only beginning to understand the complexity of these systems and it seems that adaptive pressures can give rise to non-canonical pathways in living cells. Conversely, it is quite recent that high throughput data has made it possible for us to discover and investigate these novel proteins and pathways. TSL provides me with an ideal platform to gain concrete knowledge of this field; from underscoring the role of novel phytocytokines in eliciting plant immune responses to investigating their mode of action and perception by receptor kinases in plants, alongside exploiting that mechanism to develop Fusarium resistant crop varieties.
