Bio
I am interested in understanding the virulence factors of the phloem-colonizing bacterium, Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), which is associated with the citrus disease Huanglongbing. More specifically, my current research identifies the CLas genes that are important during association with its vector host, Asian Citrus Psyllid and during disease its plant host, Citrus.
My PhD work focused on using bacterial monitoring of the plant pathogen, Pseudomonas syringae, during exposure to Pattern Triggered Immunity (PTI) to identify potential molecular mechanisms of PTI.
