I am interested in plant pathology and food security. During my undergraduate research placement, I enjoyed investigating how nutrient homeostasis in the pathogen Fusarium graminearum impacts its virulence on wheat. At TSL I will be investigating how effector proteins secreted by Magnaporthe oryzae promote infection in rice, how they help modulate host immunity, identify their host targets and how this benefits the pathogen.
